There are not many three-row crossovers that are entertaining to drive, so their ride and handling are graded on a curve. Even so, the Journey's ponderous handling and unresponsive transmission leave it far from getting a good rating from us.

What’s New for 2019?

Apart from the fact that the entry-level Journey SE can now be had with the V-6 engine and six-speed automatic transmission, there are no other changes that affect its performance or handling. This remains true for every model year since the 2016 Journey that we last tested, which is illustrated in the charts below. When it comes to performance, the GMC Acadia came out on top in this group.

Since the Journey is unchanged for 2019, we don't expect the performance numbers to differ. To see how the 2018 Dodge Journey performed, you can read our in-depth review.
