While most kids are kicking soccer balls or riding their bikes around the neighborhood, Lance Fenderson races a 70 mph go-kart throughout America. Aged 11, he's a relative veteran. Lance began racing at five.

This year, Lance won the final race in the WKA Cadet Sportsman1 national championships as a rookie, marking himself as the favorite to steal next season's crown.

Unlike some of their competitors, the Fendersons work on a tight budget, favoring the back of their SUV and a small trailer rather than the million dollar motorhomes of other racers.

Lance is on the first step of the ladder to eventually realizing his dream of racing Formula One.
