Pittsburgh Maulers reveal their new uniforms for the 2023 USFL season

The Pittsburgh Maulers showed their true colors Thursday morning. Those colors happened to be black and yellow.

The Maulers revealed their uniforms for the 2023 season. Both the home and away uniforms feature black, yellow and white throughout. The home jersey is blended with a black torso with yellow circling around the shoulder area. The away uniform is mainly white with the black color circling around the shoulder area instead and a hint of yellow inside the jersey number, along with the black.

Last year, the Maulers' colors were purple and reddish-orange, which were the team's colors in the original USFL in the 1980s. The Maulers announced the change to black and yellow in late January, colors the city of Pittsburgh knows well in professional sports. The Steelers, Pirates and Penguins all wear black and yellow.

Both the Maulers and the New Jersey Generals are in their first week of training camp at the Hall of Fame Village to ramp up for the start of the USFL season next month. Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium will be the home field for both teams in the new USFL's sophomore season.

The Maulers will open the season on the road against New Orleans April 16. The Generals also start on the road, as they face Birmingham on April 15. The Maulers and Generals play each other in Week 2 at Hall of Fame Stadium on April 23.
