Polestar Synergy Concept: Hot Wheels Come to LifePolestar

The Polestar Synergy concept is a full-scale model that mixes three designs from the winners of Polestar's latest design contest. Not only does the concept look like a Hot Wheels car come to life, but the Mattel-owned toy brand has announced it will be partnering with Polestar on next year's contest. For now, we're exploring some of the most interesting details about the Synergy concept.

For this year's design contest, Polestar prompted contestants to create a design based around performance. However, it also had to provide an "advanced technical story that enables this in a sustainable way." The result is the Synergy concept that looks like a Le Mans hypercar without a busy livery.

The Synergy concept stands just under three-and-a-half feet tall, and it measures nearly 15 feet long. Its exterior has the same white paint color as other Polestar concepts. While other technical details aren't mentioned, we're told the concept is electric. We'd also wager it has dual motors, at the very least, which would likely meet or exceed the 884 horsepower made by the Polestar 6's powertrain.

Like other Polestar models, the Synergy concept can be identified by its name stamped on the front fenders, which on the Synergy concept end with a dramatic floating design that breaks away from the body. Behind them on either side are large aero elements that appear to channel air through the body and out the back.

Along with massive wheels pushed out to all four corners, the Synergy concept's brake lights are primarily featured on a full-width light bar. Those who want to enter its cockpit will do so through a glass canopy that flips forward like some kind of fighter jet.

With the canopy up, the single seat acts as a throne for the driver, who straps in with Polestar's signature gold seatbelts. Above the driver's seat is what appears to be some sort of virtual-reality visor that shows the driver additional info that's not relayed on the gauge cluster.

Forward visibility is virtually unencumbered in the Synergy concept. Along with the info displayed on the gauges and the steering yoke, drivers can monitor the battery's temperature as well as its state of charge via colored displays on either side of the cockpit.

Judging by the view out of the glass canopy, the driver can more easily locate the front tires thanks to the positioning of the tall front fenders. The yoke-like steering wheel appears to have a heartbeat monitor, and it frames a frameless gauge-cluster display that lists the speedometer, G-force meter, and tire-pressure monitor.

The Synergy concept's sloping roofline flows into a rear spoiler that bridges the fenders. The black panel on the back appear to host a third brake light along with rear-facing cameras. The piece also says "360;Vision" in white lettering.
