The Porsche 911 GT3 is pretty quick straight out of the box. Built to dominate race tracks, most people wouldn't be able to squeeze all of the performance of the car without a bunch of training and practice. But for the few that want even more performance, Manthey Racing has a kit.

The partly-owned Porsche subsidiary will sell you a package of upgrades for your 992 GT3, which includes adjustable suspension, better brake pads, lighter wheels, and a handful of aero improvements. It adds up to a ton of extra performance, as driver Christian Gebhardt of German publication Sport Auto found out when he set a remarkably fast lap at the Nürburgring.

Gebhardt was able to clock a lap time of 6:59.42 while behind the wheel of a Manthey Racing-modded GT3—an incredible feat considering he's not an engineer with a company but an outside journalist (albeit with a ton of racing experience). The time is just a few seconds off Porsche's own official time of the normal GT3.

Video from the lap, published above, shows just how much grip is generated at high speeds thanks to the extra aero. It's also an opportunity to listen to that 502-hp naturally aspirated flat-six rev to 9000 rpm over and over again, which we'll never complain about.
