Yahoo Autos Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Wagon Dead for New Generation
The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo is dead, with the company axing the wagon body style.
The change comes as the 2024 Porsche Panamera enters its third generation, reverting back to a sedan-only lineup.
With a history of slow sales, Porsche couldn't justify bringing the more practical wagon to the new generation.
The third-generation Porsche Panamera is here with more of just about everything—except for the Sport Turismo wagon, which will not be joining the sedan in the new generation. Porsche revealed the new Panamera last week, and the Sport Turismo was noticeably absent. We now know it has been sent to the gallows.

The wagon was unsurprisingly dropped due to slower sales than the rest of the lineup. In a statement to Automotive News Europe, the manufacturer said, "In China and the U.S. — our main markets in the D segment—the Sport Turismo plays only a minor role. For this reason, we have decided to discontinue this model variant with the launch of the new generation."
The loss of the wagon will certainly come as a disappointment to some, but there is still excitement to be found in the 2024 Panamera. The new generation has more technology and better hybrid capability as well as increased luxury and performance. Stylistically, it is an evolution of the second-gen model, with clearer body lines and muscular front fenders that evoke the styling of a 911.
The new Panamera’s cabin takes after the Taycan EV’s look and feel. The highlight of the interior is its up to three digital displays: a 12.6-inch unit for the instrument cluster and dual 10.9-inch center and passenger-side touchscreens, the latter being optional.
Under the skin, the new Panamera's powertrains closely mirror those of the the recently updated Cayenne SUV. A revised version of the turbocharged 2.9-liter V-6 produces an addition 23 ponies and 37 pound-feet over the last version. That results in a total of 348 horses and 368 pound-feet.
Order books are now open for the 2024 Panamera, which starts at $101,550, and first deliveries are slated for the spring.
