Yahoo Autos This R34 Skyline Drift Car Packs a Viper V10 Punch
When it comes to drift cars, it seems anything's possible. Drop in at a drift event, and you might see anything from a twin-turbo Mustang to a Lamborghini Murcielago or even a Ferrari-engined Toyota Scion on show. Still, this particular mashup is a real jaw-dropper: An R34 Nissan Skyline with the high-displacement beating heart of a Dodge Viper V10 under the hood. Yikes!
This orange R34, built by Danish drift team Unique Racing, takes advantage of the under-hood space created by removing the factory straight-six in delightfully overkill fashion. To back up that drivetrain, it has all the serious mods you'd expect from a professional-grade drift car, like huge fender flares, a bunch of aero, and a roll cage.
Powered is routed through a T56 six-speed manual, and sent to the rear wheels via the R34's stock differential and axles. That's impressive considering the engine makes around 500 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque to the wheels, according to Engine Swap Depot.
One of the R34's drivers, Martin Hjermitslev, put together a video detailing the build and the subsequent drifting that followed. If you're into outrageous engine swaps, it's certainly worth a watch.
