Radical Cup’s Missig to make Indy NXT debut at IMS

Current Radical Cup Pro 1500 points leader and four-time 2024 race winner Jordan Missig [pictured center] is set to make his Indy NXT debut next weekend at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the Indy Grand Prix. A competitor who has done the crossover from open wheel racing to sportscars and back with success, Missig is looking to utilize the momentum gained from four victories this season and springboard to the top of the competitive field of NXT competitors.

“Jordan more than deserves this opportunity, and you can see the progression in his craft,” explained Radical Cup’s Tom Drewer. “After commencing his car racing career in Radicals at Autobahn and then in our national series, he has impressed as he climbed the USF ladder, and upon his return to the Radical Cup field this season, he was a fixture at the front. Jordan leads both the Pro 1500 points and the outright championship standings after the two opening rounds.”

Missig, who has now driven for the likes of Wayne Taylor Racing, Pabst Racing, Newman Wachs Racing, and Graham Rahal Performance, commented, “I’ve worked with some top level professional teams in my career, and Abel Motorsports is right up with those teams. I think it’s a great fit for me. We’re still in the relationship-building stage, but after my first trip to the shop for the seat fitting, I think we’ve started quite well. I appreciate all the hard work by the team and all the support from my sponsor, Autobahn Country Club.”

Racing out of the Graham Rahal Performance stable in the Radical Cup, Missig was able to compete alongside the NTT IndyCar Series last weekend at Barber Motorsports Park, where he saw his team owner, Graham Rahal, battle in North America’s top open wheel series. Scoring yet another win on the weekend in his quest to clinch the championship title, Missig is taking a weekend away from Radical Cup competition to stay on track in Indy NXT.

Drewer added, “Jordan is proof that our competitors are at the top of their game and racing in one of the country’s best programs. We wish Jordan the best of luck and I will cheer him on this weekend as a Radical racer looks to take it to the competition in Indy NXT. Good luck Jordan!”

Missig will return to the Radical Cup for round three alongside IndyCar at Road America for the XPEL Grand Prix presented by AMR, June 6-9, which will feature four days of on-track action from the Radical Cup series.
