Raj Nair was ousted from his role as president of Ford North America earlier this year because of unspecified "inappropriate behavior." This month, Nair started a new job at Multimatic Motorsports in Ontario, Canada, a racing shop with a pretty significant connection to Nair's old job at Ford.

News of Nair's appointment was first spotted by R&T contributor Bozi Tatarevic, and has been confirmed to Road & Track by Multimatic marketing VP Michael Guttilla. Nair was appointed president and chief operating officer of Multimatic on May 7th, per Guttilla.

Multimatic is perhaps best known for its innovative spool-valve dampers, which are used in many top-level race and street cars, but the company is also responsible for constructing the current Ford GT. During his time as global chief technology officer at Ford, Nair played a huge role in getting the GT into production and racing at Le Mans. His arrival at Multimatic means he'll still be a part of GT production and racing.

"Raj brings extensive knowledge, perspective and skills in engineering, manufacturing, management and overall auto industry experience to Multimatic," Guttilla told R&T. "These qualities will help Multimatic attain another level of performance for our customers.

"The addition of Raj to our leadership team was about making a great company even better. His skill-set is perfectly aligned with Multimatic’s core competencies and purpose," Guttilla continued.

Nair himself seems to have commented on the news on FordGTForum.com, a popular site for GT owners.

"I’m really excited about joining the Multimatic team and our future," Nair said. "And of course, I’m so happy to be able to stay part of the GT community!"
