It’s not often that a luxurious classic German limousine which has been owned by three music superstars hits the market. Yet that’s exactly what this 1970 Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman is, with many collectors sizing it up as they consider adding it to their garage.

The Alpha One GTO driven by Tom Cruise in Vanilla Sky is for sale.

Undeniably stately, these cars have been popular with foreign heads of state as well as some of the most famous celebrities in the world. So it should be no surprise this one, chassis 001580, was ordered brand new by John Lennon himself.

As one of the few right-hand-drive Pullmans, Mr. Lennon added quite a few bespoke details to this car as ordered from the factory. Among them is a Blaupunkt radio, Pioneer tape recorder, Phillips-Mignon record player, and quite the array of speakers. It’s obvious the limousine was used for creativity on the go.

While the exterior is a crisp white, the interior features a contrasting black with velour upholstery on the seats and black leather on the doors. That, combined with grey carpeting and a cream headliner, makes for a sophisticated space perfect for relaxing while being chauffeured.
