Its racing journey began soon after, leading to notable performances in Europe under the ownership of London's Chequered Flag racing team. The Cobra's most significant victory was at the 1966 Ilford Films 500 at Brands Hatch, England, where it was driven to first place by Formula 1 racers David Piper and Bob Bondurant, marking a momentous European win for a production Shelby 427 Cobra.

CSX3006's racing history continued through various European circuits, culminating in its last major race at Zeltweg, Austria, in 1966. Following its competitive career, the Cobra passed through several prominent owners, including Michael Shoen and George Stauffer, and underwent multiple restorations, each preserving its legendary essence.

The Cobra's recent history includes meticulous restoration work by Legendary Motorcar Company, reverting it to its original left-hand drive configuration and May 1966 Brands Hatch-winning colors. This restoration was even featured on the "Dream Car Garage" television show.
