You Need to See The Newest Porsche 911s Restored by Singer

From Road & Track

Since starting in 2009, Singer has lavishly restored 50 unique Porsche 911s, most of which stayed in America, with some going to Hong Kong, Moscow, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, Norway, and the UK. The company currently has commissions to restore more than 80 additional 911s, but for now, they'll bring only the two latest to Quail this weekend: a 1990 964 Targa, and a 1994 Coupé, both built for the same customer.

Let's see that Targa then!

Named 'Luxemburg' after a small township in Minnesota, this open top beauty features what they call a 'Tyler Tartan' interior, which has a seven-color leather weave pattern, including two oranges, four shades of blue and one cream. The rest of the interior is Navy Blue, while the exterior is Deep Orange to complement the look.

The removable roof is now made of carbon fiber that's been wrapped in Navy canvas, while the Targa hoop got Singer's golden nickel-plate finish, with only two air filtering louvers instead of three like you'd find on an original 1965 Targa.

Power comes from an Ed Pink-developed 4.0 liter engine, linked to a six-speed manual. The brakes are massive Brembos, the suspension is tuned for the road, and as you can see, the car looks perfect from every angle.

Our Minnesota man's second Singer-restored 911, the 'Minnesota,' started out as a final year 964 before getting a full makeover, including a Gunmetal Gray exterior and Tobacco Brown interior featuring full leather interior panels and sport seats that are fashioned in a suede mix weave with brass grommets. This customer also specified it with a blue tachometer instead of Singer's standard orange.

The hardtop has Singer's 3.8 Cosworth engine tuned to produce about 350 horsepower, with a six-speed gearbox and a roll-bar at the back.

Singer expects to see at least eight of their restorations around Monterey this weekend, so watch out for them in the crowd.
