The hybrid McLaren Artura, the brand's entry-level supercar, is being updated for 2025, most notably adding a new Spider convertible version. The Artura also receives a host of performance upgrades that will also be applied to the coupe model, which has been on sale since 2023.
The Artura's hybrid V-6 powertrain makes 19 more horsepower for 2025, bringing the total output to a potent 690 ponies.
McLaren has also sharpened the eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle, with shift speeds that are said to be 25 percent quicker.
60 mph arrives in just 3.0 seconds, McLaren says, en route to a 205-mph top speed.
There's also a new drive mode called "Spinning Wheel Pull-Away," which requires turning off stability control and should allow for sweet burnouts.
McLaren says the damper valving has been retuned, which along with new powertrain mounts should help improve handling.
The cabin is mostly unchanged, but the Artura now offers wireless phone charging.
The retractable roof required new buttresses, which feature a clear polycarbonate panel that helps direct air to the mid-mounted engine while still helping with visibility.
The 2025 Artura is fitted with carbon-ceramic brake rotors and lightweight aluminum calipers along with revised cooling ducts.
Orders for the 2025 Artura are now open, with deliveries slated to begin midway through this year.
McLaren will also offer owners of 2023 and 2024 Artura models the same horsepower upgrades for free if they bring their car to a McLaren dealership.
