From Road & Track

The Nurburgring's open lapping sessions are usually pretty tame in terms of cars. People bring all sorts of track-ready machines, but most of the time, they're just prepped road cars driven to and from the track. Someone took it one step further, though, bringing a full-fledged Ferrari 488 GT3 race car to a tourist day at the 'Ring. Needless to say, it dominated.

This video, captured by YouTuber Supercarsfromeu, shows a 488 GT3 race car flying through traffic on a sunny track day at the Nurburgring this past weekend. The car looks quick on its own, but next to normal street cars, it's absolutely flying.

The 488 even makes a 666-horsepower McLaren 675LT look like it's standing still, showing just how much faster a purpose-built track machine is when compared to a road-going supercar.

This car, sponsored by Octane 126 AG, is one of the two Ferrari entries for the upcoming Nurburgring 24-Hour race. Our best guess is the team brought its car to the 'Ring to get some extra practice laps in before the big race.

Though the 488 GT3 looks great here, we can't wait to see it face off against something in its own class.
