Sprint, IndyCar, and NASCAR Driver Bryan Clauson Has Died

From Road & Track

Bryan Clauson has passed away from injuries sustained in a sprint car crash Saturday evening in Nebraska. He was 27.

If you didn't know the name Bryan Clauson, you've certainly seen a race that he was in. He was what you'd call a racer's racer.

Bryan Clauson was a throwback to a time when a race car driver would race anything and everything at any time. He raced in the 2016 Indy 500 and then ran Sprint cars that night in Kokomo. He had NASCAR, IndyCar, and Sprint car starts under his belt, and was on track to run 200 races this year.

Saturday night was race number 116 on the quest to run 200 in 2016. It's a huge loss, and the racing community is in mourning over the loss of such a bight young talent.

Bryan is survived by his parents, Tim and Diana, sister Taylor and his fiancé, Lauren Stewart. Donations in memory of Clauson can be made through the USAC Benevolent Foundation at USACBF.org.
