There’s never been another racecar driver and actor quite like Steve McQueen. Literally an icon at this point, and arguably was a full-blown one while he was alive, McQueen was larger than life. As a diehard gearhead, the man owned an impressive collection of vehicles. But one that’s been out of the public eye, a 1970 Chevy K5 Blazer, is about to cross the block at a very public auction and it has people noticing.

After all, how often do people have a shot to drive the same ride the King of Cool used to own? Just that factor alone should have quite the positive effect on the final bid. The only downside is that will keep this classic off roader out of the hands of some eager enthusiasts. Thems the breaks.

The guy who originally purchased this vehicle after McQueen saw an ad offering it for a mere $1,800 back in 1971. It wasn’t until later that he learned it was owned by the racecar driver and movie star and used by Solar Productions, along with four other Chevrolet trucks, to transport the Baja race team.
