A 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, used in Steve McQueen's final film "The Hunter," is up for auction after being stored in a barn for nearly four decades.

A piece of cinematic and automotive history is up for grabs as a 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, once used in a stunt for Steve McQueen's last film "The Hunter," is set to be auctioned in Scottsdale, Arizona. This classic vehicle has been tucked away in a barn for almost 40 years, only to resurface in 2018 for the auction scene.

The Trans Am was part of an explosive scene in the 1980 movie and was later gifted to an Illinois farmer who had assisted the production crew. It remained with him, stored away from the public eye until its recent owner decided it was time for it to find a new home. The auction, facilitated by Bring A Trailer, has sparked significant interest, with the current bid standing at $18,400.
