Stolen Dodge Challenger Leads Georgia Cops On Three County Chase

After a high-speed pursuit, Georgia law enforcement arrested 45-year-old Steven Allen Freeman following a high-speed chase that spanned three counties. The incident began early Thursday morning when Haralson County deputies received a report of a stolen 2016 Dodge Challenger. The vehicle was later spotted on Hwy. 120, leading to an intense chase exceeding speeds of 120 miles per hour.

The pursuit weaved through Paulding County, Carroll County, and back into Haralson County before culminating near Temple city limits, where Carroll County deputies strategically blocked Hwy. 78 to end the chase. Freeman, the driver of the stolen vehicle, was apprehended and is now facing multiple charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, fleeing and attempting to elude, along with various traffic offenses.

Haralson County Sheriff Stacy Williams commended the collaborative efforts of multiple divisions within the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office and neighboring agencies. Sheriff Williams highlighted the exceptional teamwork and coordination between local departments, which played a crucial role in the successful apprehension of Freeman, described as a career felon, and the recovery of the stolen vehicle.

Freeman is currently detained in the Haralson County Jail as the legal process unfolds.
