Mess with the bull, get the horns.

We don’t recommend driving a stolen car around, but if you do and the police catch you, just give up instead of trying to play The Dukes of Hazzard. And while a 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat certainly is capable of outrunning cops and even police helicopters, most people can’t handle the power. That was clearly displayed by some suspects in Mississippi when a trooper tried pulling them over and instead the suspects decided to do things the hard way.

Video games are coming to your car, whether you want them to or not.

According to local station WAPT, the Hellcat was traveling in tandem with a stolen Chevy Silverado. Obviously, these criminals know that two stolen vehicles together attract far less attention that just one, so right off the bat we’re dealing with strategic geniuses. At least, the people in the truck were smart enough to just pull over and take their punishment.

Hellcats are stupid fast and powerful, one of the reasons we love them so much. But like any potent tool, they can be misused by people who ruin the fun for everyone. These guys had what we consider to be a short-lived period of pretending they were going to get away, traveling 20 miles before wrecking out.

If the muscle car was going 100 mph, which is a very conservative and quite frankly low estimate, that would mean these suspects were running for only 12 minutes before wrecking out gloriously. It’s more likely they were going closer to 150 mph, so their attempt at fleeing lasted a mere eight minutes. Pathetic.

As you can see in the video taken by a passerby after the accident and shared by WAPT, the Hellcat’s front is heavily damaged and the rear end is just obliterated. The impact also flipped an 18-wheeler or at least contributed to it flipping. The suspects were lucky they didn’t kill themselves, let alone anyone else.

Don’t steal cars, don’t drive stolen cars, and don’t run from the cops.

Also, Hellcats are cool and we wish criminals would leave them alone.
