Gunter Nezhoda, best known for his appearances on the reality-television show “Storage Wars,” has died. He was 67.

Nezhoda’s son and fellow “Storage Wars” star Rene Nezhoda confirmed his Tuesday death in an Instagram video Wednesday.

"My dad six months ago was diagnosed with lung cancer. He’s been smoking for 30 years,” Rene said. “And last night he passed away in his sleep peacefully from complications from lung cancer. He had all kinds of holes in his lungs, and there was nothing else the doctors could do.”

Rene added that Nezhoda’s family kept news of his condition private because they “thought he was going to fully recover.”

"Now hopefully he’s up there in heaven with my mom dancing again,” Rene continued. “And no more pain and stuff like this.”

Nezhoda first appeared on “Storage Wars,” a show about professional buyers who bid on abandoned storage lockers in auctions, during the A&E series’ eighth season in 2015. His last appearance on the show was on a Season 12 episode in 2019.
