This Supercharged Acura NSX Is the Lightweight NSX of Your Dreams

From Road & Track

Acura might actually build a lightweight, non-hybrid NSX, and that's excellent news. But what if you can't afford one? Well, if that's the case, then probably you won't be able to buy Clarion Builds' fire-spitting 230,000-mile 1991 NSX either. But it can give you a few ideas on how to take a stock first-gen NSX to the next level.

Basically, Clarion Builds upgraded every aspect of the car, from bigger brakes and a better suspension package to a complete drivetrain swap, so it now runs with the 3.2 V6 from a 2004 NSX boosted by a Comptech Supercharger, producing 345 horses at the wheel. With Michelin Pilot Super Sports in all corners and a weight of just 3100 pounds, that's plenty for the canyons.

And in case anybody would get bored of the sound the supercharged V6 makes at 8300 rpm through the custom exhaust, Clarion also fitted the interior with its best stereo, a 360-degree camera system, and the nicest leathers they could find.

This blue wonder is a seriously cool car, and it's easy to see why Matt Farah, who gives it his One Take treatment here, would keep it forever if only it had shorter gearing. Talk about a no brainer.

Acura, please take notes.
