Update: This SUV Probably Isn't a Lamborghini Urus Test Mule

Update: It's almost definitely not a Lamborghini test mule. As Autoblog reports, it's the work of a German dealer who disguised an Audi Q7 to use as a promo vehicle.

We've known for a while that Lamborghini's developing an SUV for 2018. Former Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelman confirmed that to us more than a year ago. Now, it looks like a test mule has been spotted by Top Gear's Rowan Horncastle at the Munich airport.

It's pretty well disguised, but if you look closely at the grille, you can see the tape on the wrap says Lamborghini on it. And that camouflage pattern looks a lot like what Lamborghini's used on other cars like the Huracan Superleggera.

It's been several years since Lamborghini first showed off the Urus concept at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. And while we assume the production version won't look exactly like the concept, it's still the best glimpse at what Lamborghini's thinking. Presumably, it will be share a platform with the Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga. Winkelman's also confirmed it will be powered by a twin-turbo V8.

Of course, this won't be the first SUV the Italian automaker's ever built. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Lamborghini sold the military-style LM002. So while it may seem odd for a supercar manufacturer to offer an SUV, at least there's precedent at Lamborghini.
