From Road & Track

This Ferrari F355 V8 paired with a six-speed manual transaxle just popped up for sale on Bring a Trailer. What car would you swap it into?

This engine, internally dubbed F129C by Ferrari, is a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated unit producing 375 horsepower and 268 lb.-ft. of torque, with a redline of 8500 RPM. It has five valves per cylinder, a dry-sump oiling system, and titanium connecting rods from the factory. According to Bring a Trailer, it was pulled out of an F355 Spider that was wrecked in 2015, and has just 10,900 miles of usage. It's connected to a six-speed transaxle that also houses the differential. Both parts are said to be in good working order, although, there are some parts missing, such as the alternator, starter motor, clutch assembly, and exhaust headers (which are very expensive to replace).

As unimaginative as this sounds, I'd probably drop this combo into something like a Dino 308 GT4. I love the looks of it, but it's not the fastest or most modern Ferrari out there. Pair the new powertrain with some bigger brakes and sticky tires, and I have a feeling it would be a blast. Sure, it'd take a lot of work since it's a transverse layout from the factory, but with enough funds, why not?
