We've never gotten to the bottom of the steaming rumor that international pop sensation Taylor Swift and Aston Martin's premier Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso dated, but the clues continue to pile up. Following the release of Swift's newest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," one line in particular is stoking a gossip frenzy about the alleged week-long fling.

Nestled in the 18th track of the record, "imgonnagetyouback," Swift sings, "I’m an Aston Martin that you steered straight into the ditch then ran and hid." With no official reports of Swift being in a high-profile crash in an Aston Martin and then fleeing, Formula 1 and Swift fans alike are speculating that this is a metaphor for her by-gone feelings for Alonso.

However, the sentiment of being guided into a ditch by love and its accompanying supercar references could be the result of Taylor's affinity for flashy, fast cars. While her first car was a record-label-gifted 2007 Chevrolet Silverado, Swift has been rumored to own a Ferrari 458 Italia and is often seen riding in the luxurious lap of a Mercedes Maybach S650 and Cadillac Escalade.

Of course, Swift is now dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Super Bowl Champion Travis Kelce, and even Alonso himself never confirmed the reported relationship. True to his joking form, the F1 racer did make light of the situation last year by posting a TikTok listening to a sped-up version of the song Karma and stating he was in his "race week era." Thankfully, as another year has passed, the speculation surrounding Taylor Swift's then 33-year-old age and Alonso's unrequited 33rd F1 win have come and gone.
