The Semi was first revealed all the way back in 2017, promising 500 miles of all-electric range and a 0-60 time of 20 seconds when pulling its maximum 80,000-pound load. Musk promised an original production start date of 2019, though, like most Tesla products, the Semi was met with delays.
Musk says the very first customers to receive their Semis will be Pepsi, with the soft drink firm waiting on an order of 100 trucks. It plans to deploy 15 of them by year's end, according to Bloomberg. Other big-name businesses expecting deliveries include Wal-Mart, UPS, and Anheuser-Busch.
Tesla hasn't published an official price for its Semi, though it's rumored to cost between $150,000 and $200,000 depending on battery size. Purchasers will also be eligible for up to roughly $40,000 in U.S. incentives per truck.
