We just wrapped up our third annual Hudson Quattrocento, a four-day rally through the Northeast. It is a building tradition for Experiences by Road & Track, our curated series of car-oriented getaways and adventures for enthusiasts. If you missed this one, be sure to catch us at another upcoming experience.

The rally started at Montverde at Oldstone, near New York's Bear Mountain State Park. The trip opened with breakfast and introductions from Road & Track Editor-in-Chief Mike Guy as rally participant's cars were given their numbers for the week.

The convoy then headed east toward Connecticut, toward Wayne Carini's garage. There, we stopped for lunch at his drive-in theater and looked over a selection of his favorites from a sprawling collection. He brought out a wide variety of cars, from a custom Jaguar racer to a 1965 Mustang GT350 that he's been known to let friends drive. His favorite of the group was a 1969 Ford Torino built as a NASCAR-style stock car for the road, complete with a fully custom interior and engine bay.

Carini then sat for a conversation with R&T editors Mike Guy and Matt Farah, discussing some of his favorite cars and his best experiences recording his hit show Chasing Classic Cars. He let us in on some of the plans for a reboot of the network SpeedVision, an operation he partly owns. At the end, he left time for questions and named his favorite car in the group: the Audi RS6 Avant brought by a Track Club member.

The group continued back through Connecticut to our night's lodging at Troutbeck. Here, we sat for dinner and a fireside chat with Editor-at-Large AJ Baime and a very special guest, racing driver Randy Lanier.

Lanier's led a one-of-a-kind life. In 1986, he won Rookie of the Year at the Indianapolis 500. By January of 1987, he was staring down legal troubles for his other career smuggling marijuana. Lanier got out of prison in 2014 before returning to the track in 2015. He and Baime handed out and signed copies of their book, Survival of the Fastest, just before dinner.

The next morning, the group headed to nearby Lime Rock Park for a day at the track. The morning was split between the track itself and Lime Rock's unique permament autocross course. On the big course, Track Club members and their cars got a chance to stretch their legs on the legendary circuit that has hosted top-level American racing continuously since the 1960s.

Over at the autocross, members had the unique opportunity to throw their cars around more aggressively at slower speeds. A few of our editors based in New York stopped by, too.

McLaren brought a new Artura, its first-ever V-6 model and the first of its new generation of hybrid supercars, along for the rally. Test drives of another Artura were available throughout the day at Lime Rock, as was a chance to check out the company's GT.
