It Took 138 Hours to Detail this McLaren F1 GTR LT to Absolute Perfection

From Road & Track

Only about 100 McLaren F1s were ever produced, and among that group, some of the rarest examples are the F1 GTR LTs. Only nine of these "Long Tail" F1 GTRs were ever built, which means they're not just rare-they're ridiculously valuable, as well.

If you want to prepare one of these cars for an event like the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, it takes an incredible amount of care to make sure everything is perfect. And that means it takes time. Lots of time.

For the car featured below, that translated to 138 man-hours of detailing. If one person were to attempt that task themselves, they would have to work 20-hour days to get the job done in less than a week. That's insane.

At the end of it, though, you would never guess you were looking at a 20-year-old car. It literally looks perfect. So perfect, in fact, that it won the 2016 Spirit of the Quail award.
