A 1967 Porsche 911S Coupe has made a spectacular comeback from nearly half a century in storage, acquiring not just a mechanical rejuvenation but also prestigious accolades. This classic vehicle, now owned by a dedicated enthusiast, secured a second-place finish in the preservation class at the 2023 Arizona Concours d’Elegance and was highlighted in Hemmings Classic Car magazine's September 2023 issue.

Originally sold through Porsche Cars Northwest in Beaverton, Oregon, and delivered to Westside Volkswagen/Porsche in Portland in September 1966, this 911S presents a striking figure in Light Ivory over black upholstery. Its journey from a long-forgotten relic to a celebrated classic involved an extensive mechanical overhaul that included updating the aluminum-case flat-six with 2.2-liter pistons and cylinders, enhancing its vintage appeal while improving performance.

The car's distinct aesthetic, characterized by its original Light Ivory paint, chrome accents, and iconic Fuchs wheels, reflects a bygone era of automotive design. Despite showing signs of its age and adventures, including stone chips and a cracked turn signal lens, the 911S's character and history are evident in every detail.

This Porsche's revival extended to its suspension and braking systems, with components stripped, powder-coated, and reassembled with modern replacements where necessary, ensuring that the car's driving dynamics match its visual appeal. Inside, the cockpit remains a testament to 1960s craftsmanship, featuring black leatherette bucket seats, aluminum trim, and the original, albeit disconnected, Webasto gas heater.

Under the hood, the car's heart—the overhauled flat-six engine—now boasts 2.2-liter pistons and cylinders, alongside meticulously rebuilt carburetors, oil cooler, alternator, and distributor. This engine work, completed by the selling dealer and a marque specialist, ensures that the 911S's performance lives up to its legendary status.

With just 75k miles on the odometer and about 100 miles added since its latest ownership change, this 1967 Porsche 911S Coupe represents a rare opportunity to own a piece of automotive history. The meticulous care in its restoration and preservation has not only brought this classic back to life but also secured its place as a treasured collectible in the Porsche community.
