Troopers Impound U-Haul With Isuzu Rodeo Dangling Out the Back
A U-haul driver was fined and had their truck impounded when police noticed half of an SUV hanging out of the vehicle's cargo area, KXLY reports.
The U-Haul, which appears to be hauling an Isuzu Rodeo, was stopped just outside of Okanogan, Washington on a state highway by Okanogan-based Trooper Cunningham, according to a tweet from Trooper John Bryant. The SUV appears in photos to be secured by one large cargo strap running vertically over the rear of the vehicle.

"I suppose it's moving season," Trooper Bryant said on Twitter.
The driver was fined $139 for failing to secure their load with safety chains, KXLY reports. The driver also reportedly had a suspended license and the rental U-Haul was long overdue, so both the truck and the SUV it was carrying were impounded. It's unclear when specifically the traffic stop occurred.
"Safety is paramount on our roadways," said U-Haul spokesperson Jeff Lockridge." It's easy to point a finger and chuckle at the absurdity of these photos, but there are extreme dangers associated with this kind of action, which is a clear violation of the customer contract and traffic laws. U-Haul has an entire line of affordable equipment rentals dedicated specifically to safely towing vehicles."
