Tuco From ‘Breaking Bad’ Reading A Nissan Warranty Is Your New Hilarious Nightmare

Raymond Cruz has a long and distinguished acting career, including his role on “The Closer”/”Major Crimes”—but he’s most well-known for the few episodes of “Breaking Bad” where he portrayed violent meth kingpin Tuco Salamanca. For some reason lost in the mists of corporate viral media creation, Cruz agreed to give Nissan a dramatic reading of its commercial van powertrain warranty, one that starts off surprisingly intense and never lets up.

This could have gone in so many directions, or turned out as hacky as most automaker YouTube “virals” that never actually go viral. Yet Cruz finds a way to read this boilerplate legalese as if it was typed by Shakespeare working odd jobs between epics. You will never hear the words “corrosion” and “perforation” quite the same way again.

I’m not sure how many NV200 vans Nissan will move because of this, but it does set a new standard among the automotive media. I look forward to Ford responding with, say, a dramatic re-enactment of the MyFord Touch quick-start guide starring William Shatner.
