According to reports in both the Wall Street Journal and Sports Business Journal, NBC Sports Network will shutter by the end of the year, representing a shift in the television rights agreement for NASCAR, IMSA and IndyCar.

NBC Sports executive producer Sam Flood has called his network ‘America’s Home for Motorsports. NBCSN is also the home of syndicated car culture and automotive programming.

The IndyCar television rights agreement ends after the 2021 season, but NBC carries a contact with NASCAR and IMSA through 2024. The Wall Street Journal reports that NASCAR races are likely to move over to USA Network.
