This Twin-Turbo Chevelle SS Is the Exact Opposite of Subtle

From Road & Track

Looking like it was pulled right out of Mad Max, this Chevelle is total excess. It's ridiculously loud and in your face, and you know what? We dig it. The paint isn't perfect, and it's a little rough around the edges, but we imagine we'd build something similar if we lived in a hypothetical post-apocalyptic future.

Take the turbochargers, for example. There's two of them, they're huge, and they're way out there, threatening to puree any stray bird that flies a little too close.

And those turbos aren't feeding some tiny 396, either. There's a 540-cubic-inch monster motor under that hood, making about 1300 horsepower and 1000 lb.-ft. of torque.

Speaking of that hood, it's more hole than anything else.

Unsurprisingly, this car is face-meltingly quick. Quick enough to run the quarter mile in the low nines. Breaking into the eights looks like a possibility. Yeah, those extremely-top-mount turbos work.

What you might not expect is that this car is Australian. Yep, the owner had to ship it all the way to the U.S. to participate in Drag Week 2016.

Basically, this car is awesome in every way, and we love it.
