This new special edition, named after Toyota president and known car enthusiast Akio Toyoda—specifically, his racing code name "Mr. Morizo"—has the same 300 horsepower as the already unveiled Core and Circuit trim levels, but gets its torque figure bumped from 273 lb.-ft. to 295 lb.-ft. Toyota also says the new trim has a unique close-ratio manual transmission and shorter differential gears to improve acceleration. On top of that, the Morizo Edition sheds 106 lbs from the Circuit trim, bringing the number down to an estimated 3186 pounds. The lost weight primarily comes from a backseat delete, forged wheels, and the removal of rear speakers, rear window regulators and the rear wiper mechanism.
