Seeking the ultimate ride to accompany you for your next exotic vintage car show visit? We think this super-rare, ultra-exclusive NART-built Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Spyder could be the perfect fit. You should buy it.

This uniquely-bodied NART Spyder has an full and interesting history, according to the sellers at Hyman Ltd. It was first delivered as a standard 365 GTB/4 to Chinetti Motors, which at the time was owned by NART (North American Racing Team) founder Luigi Chinetti. The original owner drove it sparingly before it was traded in, and given the full NART treatment by craftsman Giovanni Michelotti at the request of Chinetti.

The car, according to Hyman Ltd., was rebodied to resemble the style of NART's Le Mans race car of the time. Though the chassis, engine, and gearbox remain original, the outer body has been replaced with a combination of aluminum and fiberglass construction. The car has never been restored, and still wears the original NART badging located on the trunk panel. Aside from some minor interior wear, the car looks to be in perfect condition. A color-matching hardtop is included with the sale.

This particular car is the first of only three created, built as a gift by Chinetti for his wife, Marion, in 1977. She drove it for a short period of time before loaning it to the Motor Museum of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It remained there until her passing in 1982, when it was sold to a collector in Los Angeles. It's since passed through a handful of other collectors in the States, and now sits in Hyman Ltd.'s showroom in St. Louis, Missouri.

With an asking price of $995,000, is far from Miata-levels of cheap. But considering this car's heritage and rarity, we'd say anything sub-seven figures is a deal.
