From Road & Track

The Italian coachbuilder Zagato has brought us all kinds of wonderful, stylish car designs throughout the years. This car, the Lancia Hyena, is a great example of a Zagato car done right. It's for sale, and you should buy it.

Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.

The Lancia Hyena uses the turbo inline-four drivetrain from a Lancia Delta Integrale Evo II, upgraded to around 300 horsepower, going to the front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission. The body was built by Zagato in Milan, and looks stunning. Because each car cost so much to make, only 24 were built before production ended. They rarely ever come up for sale, and command six-figure price tags when they do.

This particular Lancia Hyena is painted in a deep ocean green color, and comes from long-time ownership, according to the sellers at Very Superior Old Cars in the Netherlands. It only has 8300 kilometers (around 5160 miles) on the odometer, meaning it's barely been driven since rolling out of the Zagato workshop in 1992. The car looks to be in fantastic shape inside and out, with straight body panels, a clean interior, and a spotless engine bay.

Of course, the exclusivity of this car comes with a price. The selling dealer is asking no less than €225,000, which translates to around $261,000 in American dollars. That is a lot of money. For some context, you can purchase a single new Ferrari 488 GTB, or around ten new Mazda MX-5 Miatas. But if you're the type that needs to stand out from the supercar crowd at Pebble Beach, this could be the Zagato coupe for you. Find it here on Very Superior Old Cars' site.
