Rally fans were understandably nervous when Ford announced that it would be killing off the Fiesta after June 2023 in favor of EV development. FoMoCo’s rally partner, M-Sport, was quick to try to assuage those fears by confirming it would continue production of race-prepped variants Fiestas into the foreseeable future. Here to make good on that promise, M-Sport Poland has just shared the first images of the new Ford Fiesta Rally3 Evo.

As the name suggests, the Fiesta Rally3 Evo is designed to battle against competitors in the FIA’s Group Rally3 events across the globe. This new “Evo” marks the first time that M-Sport have seriously modified the car since its initial introduction for the 2020 season. The timing couldn’t be better, with Renault recently pulling the cover off its own Clio Rally3 racer. The updated car's front fascia comes off of the face-lifted Fiesta on sale across the pond, though its large grille and ST-style bumper intakes bring some muscle. A team reworked the wing for improved aero, while new front brake ducts aim to improve cooling. It also picks up shorter gear ratios than its predecessor, which come tucked inside a Sadev five-speed sequential. The same 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder is likely carried over from the previous rally entrant.

M-Sport Poland also confirmed that the Fiesta Rally3 Evo will employ new and improved damper setups for both gravel and tarmac rally events. While the changes don’t seem that dramatic, they do result in a rather handsome racing hatch. M-Sport also plans to continue building its Rally2 and Rally4 Fiesta models, though whether or not we'll get more Evo models will have to be seen. Until then, we can’t wait to see what this new Fiesta is capable of on stage.
