If there's one car that should be on your used-car buying radar right now, it's the last-gen Chevy Camaro Z/28. They didn't sell well when they were new, and now used examples can be found for nearly half their original MSRP. This black example optioned without air conditioning is the cheapest one we've seen yet.

Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.

With an asking price of just $39,900, this Z/28 may be the most car you can buy per dollar anywhere right now. In case you're not aware, the Z/28 was the most hardcore track-ready Camaro ever before the ZL1 1LE came around. It sports a dry-sump 7.0-liter LS7 V8 making 505 horsepower, massive 305-section width tires on all four corners, carbon ceramic brakes, functional aero pieces, and best of all, Multimatic spool-valve dampers.

New, these cars demanded prices well over $70,000. But because they were a bit too hardcore for most buyers (A/C was an option, as was a speaker system), dealers couldn't get rid of them. Nowadays, Z/28s are mostly overlooked thanks to the vastly more popular new 1LE models. But for $40,000, it's hard to argue with all of the supercar-esque features.

If I had that kind of money to blow on a track car, I don't think I'd be spending it anywhere else right now. Find it listed here on Healey Brothers Chevrolet in Middletown, New York.
