Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) increased the pace of the rescue operations in Uttarakhand with the warnings of worsening weather condition in the region on Monday. ITBP has pitched in tremendous force to evacuate stranded victims. Public Relations Officer of ITBP, Deepak Kumar Pandey, said that an estimated 8000 people were still stuck in Uttarakhand's religious Badrinath district out of which only 400 could be rescued on foot till now. The next 24 hours, according to officials are crucial for the evacuation as the weather is predicted to worsen again and that can make it difficult for the helicopters to fly.
