The original Nissan Hardbody was a small pickup truck in the 1980s and '90s, and now the company is reviving the nameplate with a retro-inspired edition of the 2024 Nissan Frontier. Get a look at the truck's exterior and interior.
The 2024 Nissan Frontier Hardbody Edition is almost identical to the Project Hardbody concept that debuted at the 2022 Chicago auto show.
The Hardbody Edition has cool wheels that look identical to the old-school set. While the concept wore a set of BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires, the production version wears less aggressive Hankook Dynapro AT2 all-terrain rubber.
Much like the original truck, the version shown here wears red paint and has black bumpers as well as a black tailgate element.
Just like the concept, the Hardbody Edition has a matte black hood decal.
Along with 4x4 decals on the front doors, the Hardbody Edition has overfenders, mud flaps, and rock rails.
In case things get too rough out on the trails, the Frontier Hardbody has this protective front skid plate.
There's nothing especially special about the Hardbody Edition's interior. It features an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system like the rest of the lineup, although a 9.0-inch unit is also available.
The Hardbody Edition's bed-mounted sport bar has side panels with "Frontier" cut out. Unlike the concept, there's no lights on the production version.
Just like every '24 Frontier, the Hardbody Edition is motivated by a 310-hp 3.8-liter V-6 paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission; four-wheel drive is standard with the Hardbody.
The Hardbody Edition is a $3890 package that's available on the Frontier SV Crew Cab 4x4, which starts at $39,206. Altogether the Frontier Hardbody starts at $42,095.
