The latest Volkswagen Amarok is a mid-size pickup sold in non-U.S. markets.
The Amarok is based on the Ford Ranger.
Unlike our Ranger, the Amarok offers an engine lineup consisting mostly of diesels.
The Amarok we drove in the U.K. had a twin-turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine good for 202 horsepower.
The Amarok we drove was the Style trim, with a 2377-pound max payload capacity.
Volkswagen uses a different dashboard layout from Ford.
Like the Ranger, though, the Amarok has a vertically oriented center touchscreen.
In the U.K., the base four-cylinder gets a six-speed manual transmission, while more powerful trims get 10-speed automatic.
