The ID.7 is Volkswagen's first EV made for the global market. It goes on sale in Europe and China later this year and in the US in 2024.

In Europe, the ID.7 is expected to achieve an impressive 453 miles of range on the largest available battery. The car hasn't been EPA rated yet, but that range will likely be less in the US.

We still don't know how much the ID.7 will cost. VW is positioning the ID.7 to take on Tesla's popular Model 3, but without pricing it's hard to know how the cars will stack up against each other with shoppers.

The ID.7 could compete with a few different Tesla models, depending on pricing. Size-wise, the electric sedan is more comparable to the Model S, but at a lower price point, it could also compete with the Model 3.
