Performance-oriented Volvos hold a special place in our hearts. They might not always be able to out-handle the competition, but their quirkiness and unique approach certainly make up for it. The V70R might be the coolest Volvo performance car ever, and this one's for sale. You should buy it.

Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.

This 2007 Volvo V70R is a final-year model equipped with the rare six-speed manual transmission. Those familiar with this car will know of its odd "spaceball" shifter boot, which uses a plastic sphere as the base of the shift knob rather than the traditional piece of leather. But of course, that's not the only interesting thing about this Volvo.

There's also the engine. It's a 300-horsepower 2.5-liter turbo five-cylinder that sends power to all four wheels via a Haldex AWD system. The cool blue gauges, Brembo brakes, electronically controlled suspension, and extremely comfortable seats are some of the other signature features of this model.

This particular car is owned by a former Volvo dealership technician, and comes with a bunch of service records included. It also comes with a set of Continental summer tires and a spare set of factory five-spoke 17-inch wheels wrapped in General snow tires-perfect for anyone planning to daily drive this thing year-round. The only downside is, the engine burns about a quart of oil every 1500 miles, according to the seller. That probably isn't too much of a concern for most, but still not optimal.

This V70R is currently up for auction on eBay Motors with a starting bid of $8700 with just over six days remaining. It also has a $11,500 Buy It Now price listed. If you're looking for a quirky wagon with one of the strangest shifters out there, this is the car for you.
