Watch This 2JZ-Swapped BMW E30 M3 Break 200 MPH in the Standing Mile

From Road & Track

The BMW E30 M3 is famous for its light weight, great steering, and stunning handling. While it doesn't have a lot of power, it's a star in the corners, which is why it's so fantastic. Right?

This M3 is a little... different. Replacing the original S14 four-cylinder engine is a turbocharged 2JZ, the iron-block straight-six from the Toyota Supra, known for making insane power when boosted. This particular unit sends over 900 horsepower to the wheels-more than four times the stock M3's figures.

The car, built by Buldre Racing of Norway, also sports a fast-shifting sequential transmission, a very stripped out interior, and a huge hydraulic handbrake. Calling this car race-prepped would be an understatement.

While the E30 M3 certainly wasn't designed for standing-mile drag runs, this one has no problem demolishing the 200 mph barrier thanks to its low weight and obscene power. Watch for yourself as its owner rips through the gears all the way to the finish.
