The Dodge Viper wasn't designed to go drag racing. That hasn't stopped the folks at Nth Moto in Minnesota from building some of the most impressive Viper drag cars on the planet. One of its cars just set the record for quickest and fastest Viper in the quarter-mile, and it looks great doing it.

The car in question, nicknamed the Juggernaut, has been featured on this website before. We first came across it in 202o when it underwent its first dyno tests. It's a 2002 Viper GTS that sports the engine from a later Gen-V Viper, equipped with a hydraulic roller camshaft and two massive Garrett 88 mm turbochargers. A MoTeC ECU takes care of the car's electronics, while power gets to the rear wheels via a beefed-up TH400 transmission. Amazingly, the car is still running independent suspension, and doesn't use any Nitrous.

Earlier this year, we watched the car set an obscenely quick quarter-mile pass, but back then, it was working with just 3100 hp. It has 200 more horses now, and set a world record at FL2K22, an event held at Gainesville Raceway in Florida, back in October. The car was able to set a quarter-mile time of 6.68 seconds at an incredible 220.1 mph.

Video from the run makes the ridiculously quick pass look somehow calm, with zero wheelspin or twitchiness coming from the rear end. Something tells us this Viper has more in it. We're curious to see where the Nth Moto folks take this car next.
