Corvette Z06s are finally getting delivered to customers. You know what that means, right? People are starting to race them. Speed Phenom on YouTube, owner of a freshly built Torch Red Z06 coupe, wasted no time taking their car to a runway racing event to see how the car would perform.

The Z06 in question is equipped with the racy Z07 package, which adds Magnetic Ride, carbon-ceramic brakes, additional aero bits, and ultra-sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires. The aerodynamics and road course-specific tires mean the car isn't as well-equipped to handle straight-line drags as a base Z06 would be, though going by this video, the car is no slouch.

The driver is able to squeeze a maximum of 155 mph in the standing half-mile during an event in Texas held by Shift S3ctor. He was also able to squeeze out a best 0-60 time of 3.45 seconds and a best quarter-mile of 11.44 seconds—not bad considering the tires never really got up to temperature.

The Z07 package is designed to take on corners, meaning its extra drag and tires aren't exactly fit for straight-line performance. We're not complaining, seeing as we still get to hear that 5.5-liter naturally aspirated LT6 V-8 sing its song.
