Watch the Ferrari 488 GTB Blast Its Way Around the Nurburgring

From Road & Track

With a mid-mounted 3.9-liter V8 making 661 horsepower and 561 lb.-ft. of torque, the Ferrari 488 GTB is both quicker and significantly more powerful than the 458 Italia it replaces. But in order to achieve those power gains while still meeting emissions standards, Ferrari had to use a turbocharger.

The new turbocharged Ferrari might not rev quite as high as the naturally aspirated 458 did, but if you watch the video below, it's clear the 488 GTB is an absolute monster on the track. The driver looks like he's aiming for a fast lap, but he's definitely not pushing it as hard as he could. Even so, he manages to lay down a 7:21.63. That's more than three seconds faster than the Ferrari Enzo.

It might not sound quite as special as the 458 did, but the 488 still makes some fantastic noises. If you weren't convinced before, maybe you will be after spending the next seven minutes listening to the sound of the 488 GTB screaming around the Nurburgring.
