Watch the Koenigsegg One:1 Thunder Around the Nurburgring

From Road & Track

True to its word, Koenigsegg has returned to the Nürburgring for testing after the track removed its temporary speed limits in March. Even though the company is there with its 1340-horsepower One:1, it's apparently not gunning for a lap record. Regardless of what Koeningsegg decides to do, we can still enjoy the fury of the One:1 let loose on this hallowed ground.

While we can't tell whether the Koenigsegg One:1 has a shot at dethroning the Porsche 918's 6:57 record around the Nordschleife from this untimed video, the car definitely sounds vicious. It's already set lap records at Suzuka and Spa-Francorchamps, and Koenigsegg has said the One:1 would dominate the 918, LaFerrari and McLaren P1-a claim we'd love to see backed up with hard numbers.

But for now, Koenigsegg is just testing–not gunning for a lap record. We'll keep an eye on Koenigsegg's Nürburgring experts, since the One:1 could very well be the new production car king.
