Watch: Kwon Alexander sends Saints into halftime with a leaping interception

Don’t say the New Orleans Saints defense gave up. Backed up against their own end zone by the rolling Buffalo Bills offense with seconds left in the first half, they came up with a huge play to keep the Bills from putting more points on the board.

Defensive end Cameron Jordan beat his blocker and crashed into Bills quarterback Josh Allen, hitting Allen’s arm as he threw to send the pass spiraling out of control. And the ball fell just within reach of a leaping Kwon Alexander, who stretched his arms as far as he could to intercept the pass before it could hit the ground.

That gave possession back to New Orleans and sent them into halftime with a 10-0 deficit, when it could have very easily been greater. Their offense may have been eroded into a fine dust by injuries and offseason salary cap cuts, but their defense kept fighting until the final whistle.
