Watch This Modified Nissan GT-R Run a 7.168-Second Quarter Mile

From Road & Track

It may have been around for a decade, but thanks to continual updates, the Nissan GT-R is still one seriously quick car. In Nismo form, its 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 makes a muscular 600 horsepower, which works with Nissan's advanced all-wheel-drive system to launch the GT-R to 60 mph in less than three seconds. It'll also do the quarter-mile in 11.1 seconds at 125 mph.

But the Nissan GT-R featured in the video below is a whole different kind of quick. Built by Bahrain-based EKanoo Racing, it just did the quarter-mile in 7.168 seconds. That's effectively four seconds faster than a GT-R Nismo. It was also traveling way faster. In the seven seconds it took to run the quarter mile, the EKanoo Racing GT-R hit a whopping 209 mph.

We don't know much about the specs or modifications EKanoo made to the car, but the team claims this was a world-record run for the GT-R. What's even crazier is that the video claims that there's still performance potential left. So be on the lookout for an even-faster video soon.
