Next weekend on April 15th marks the beginning of the 2017 World Endurance Championship, kicking off with the Six Hours of Silverstone. That means racing is right around the corner, so teams are testing out their cars to make sure everything is just right. One of those teams is, of course, Porsche, with its 2017-spec 919 Hybrid LMP1 car.

The historic Monza circuit in Italy was the venue for WEC testing this weekend, full of fast sweepers and long straights-perfect for testing a car that will eventually compete at Le Mans.

Porsche's factory Le Mans entry, the 919 Hybrid, took victory last year in the final minutes after Toyota's car fell victim to mechanical issues. It features a 500-horsepower turbocharged V4 gasoline engine paired with 400 horsepower worth of electric energy, for a combined output of around 900 horsepower.

New for this year is an aero package modified to adhere to new WEC rules, as well as some very big headlights.

Several Youtube channels took footage of the 919 at Monza testing, and judging by some of these flybys, Porsche's Le Mans entry doesn't seem to be joking around. Watch them here below.
